Nature's Path Cereals*

With two school-aged boys in our family of five, breakfast on school mornings can be a bit hectic. Our default go-to meal is often toast or, when we have some, cold cereal. Our boys love cereal, but so many of the cold cereal options in the stores leave me feeling a bit.. uh.. cold. They're full of refined sugars, fillers, artificial colours and flavorings, and really don't offer a lot else. Wait, they're fortified, which I guess is supposed to make it all okay. Sorry, but I don't want to feed my boys crap just because it's fortified. Vitamins and minerals aside, it's still over-processed garbage!

Habesha Ethiopian Restaurant

Wow! This is honestly the most exciting new food experience I've had in years! My wife and I both agreed it is going to be our "new regular". Especially since they do take-out, though I just don't think it would be the same experience that way. It is just around the corner form our house and I'm ashamed to say this is the first time we've been there.

Neither of us had any idea what Ethiopian food was, but when we walked in around 5:30 this evening we were already on cloud nine just from the smell of the spices in the air. Putting it into terms I'm somewhat familiar with, it smelled almost Moroccan, but yet something unique all on its own.

Creemore Premium Lager

In-and-of itself the Creemore Lager is a very good beer. It is a golden colour going on slight copper (lighting here is poor unfortunately). The nose is clean with no estery notes - proper for a lager. I'm not getting any malt nose off it either - which is neither here nor there for a lager (you can have malt nose, or not, depending on what type of lager since there are a dozen or more beer styles under the banner "lager"). There is a distinct and ever-so-slightly sweet malt character on the palate - not thick and overwhelming, cloying; but solid and rather pleasant. Because of this I'm actually surprised I'm not getting a malt nose - gave it a very good swish in my glass but nothing.
