Pork's Dirty Secret
I'm sure this is a worst-of-the-worst example, but I've seen reports on farms in Canada and it is not too far from the truth even here. Pork farms are major environmental problems, and this is one of the key reasons why we have almost completely weaned ourselves off factory pork, and get our from a local farmer. A farm we can visit and see with our own eyes that this does not happen. The pigs we eat are raised in a traditional fashion like you'd see on Little House on the Prairie.
One statistic I've seen says that 95% of animals in Canada raised for human consumption, are essentially raised like this.

Do I have to become a Pig Hunter
Almost. Organic Chicken and Beef are not hard to get here in Texas but the best we can do with Pork is "natural" and only with some parts.
Unless . . . you want to get out in the remote areas of Texas and hunt them yourself. Wild hogs are quickly becoming the bane of our natural habitats for other animals. Many areas though they feed and live in areas that have not seen pesticides, fertilizers and any other chemical substances they have to possibly ingest or be exposed to including the water sources. Talk about free range and organic.
But then you have to be a hunter and fetch your own.
I am sticking to natural until organic catches on in this area.
gimme a rifle!
And a plane ticket :-) I have only had wild boar once when I was on student exchange in the Soviet Union, and it was FANTASTIC!!!
